10 Teeny Tiny Things You Never Knew Existed

Teeny tiny versions of everyday real life objects or even scenarios is not a new trend of the scene. Most of us have owned a doll house, a barbie dream house or a micro machine or two in our lives. However, recently I have seem to come across somewhat a new phenomenon (well new to me at least) and its the video version of these teeny tiny things, and even more specifically teeny tiny animals in teeny tiny settings! There is just something about seeing these teeny tiny things in action of even just on display that keeps me coming back for more as I seem to be pleasantly surprised by the level of detail put into something... well... which seems so useless. I have come to a personal conclusion that there is literally a teeny tiny version of just about literally anything you can think of! Tiny jewelry, check! Tiny functioning cannon, yup its been done! Tiny lasagna, its been made! Go ahead try it! And if you find something that hasn't been made... there is someone out there who could surely make it! The following is what I like to call my miniature menagerie, a round of my top 10 favorite teeny tiny things.

Teeny Tiny Pringles - Guaranteed less the calories of reg size Pringles!

Honestly HelloDenizen does it best! These hamster are living the life! Between the cuteness overload and creative genius I would love to see more of this on Instagram!

The Heart of the Matter: Valentines Cards

I love holidays! Even if its a holiday that’s said to exist primarily for commercial purposes, rather than to commemorate a significant religious or secular event! This brings me to Valentine’s Day… It’s no secret that commercial companies have taken the opportunity to capitalize on this holiday in particular, case and point the very lack of hesitation to fill the shelves of our local Rite Aids Walgreen’s etc. with red & pink heart shaped chocolates of all sizes. Historically Valentine’s Day is actually deeply rooted and while doing a little research to inspire my post, I came across a rather intriguing woman whose name dates significantly further back than any Hallmark Brothers name does as far as Valentine’s Day goes. This woman is Esther Howland. It was said that Howland was a lady unusual for her time… I will spare you the history lesson for now, but to sum up Esther’s accolades she was “The Mother of the American Valentine”  At the age of 19 after having received an intricate English Valentine from one of her fathers' business acquaintances (her dad was a local stationer) Esther was inspired and felt confident that she was capable of creating something greater than the one she had received. So after persuading her father to order lace paper and other supplies from England and New York City the samples she produced provoked such a positive response that the advance sales exceeded more than anything she could make by herself! (check out more on Ester here!)
Quite the creative entrepreneur if you ask me, she was ahead of her time indeed! Her simple yet intricate cards started at a mere .05 cents; Esther was a true visionary whose designs made a lasting impact on the history of the Valentine. So while Hallmark may have taken over since the early days of the Valentine there is no need to give into their scheme, I mean I’m sure we all remember our days of simply gluing a doily onto a piece of heart-shaped construction paper and handing it to that special someone (usually my mom & dad) and saying “Happy Valentine’s Day” right!? While I have since graduated from the days of cut-and-paste {ok maybe not entirely} if I’ve learned one thing in grade school it’s that Valentines are for everyone—friends, family, and sweethearts alike.  Hallmark victim or Esther Howland aficionado my favorites are those handmade that come from the heart below are a few of my favorite!

Youre the Bomb! Too cute

Life is short make it pretty...

It seems as if the holidays are all about time... or lack therof if you know what I mean and I really dislike the overwhelmed feeling of last-minute gifts {which are sometime totally unavoidable} And while you could just totally head over to iamexec.com and hire yourself some additional hoiliday help for $25 per hour, you might as well spend that dough and pick up one of these personalized tchotchkes! Im a big fan of gift giving that shows you gave a little thought and custom monogram notebooks prove you were planning ahead. Only thing is Im going to have pick one up for myslef too, I believe that would be called a me-gift.
me-gift/ verb: to buy two of the same present- one for her and one for me
Example: Its bad enough Alysse and I are wearing the same sweater tonight, but its even more awkward because I me-gifted mine when I bought it for her!
Good news is, May Designs offers up a great selection of these customized notes and notebooks and you can create your very own right down to the letter/s printed on them, not to mention for such a reasonable price and the production is a cinch; easy as one, two, three, four :)
Step one: Choose your pattern from their amazing selection of swatches
Step two: Add a monogram or a name
Step three: Choose your Inside Pages. Agendas, Dots, Lines, etc.
Step four: Preview & Checkout. and Voila!
You are all finished and you can cross one or maybe even two more people off your hoiliday list of to-buy-fors. Check out their gallery for a little may designs inspiration! Happy shopping!
